- NGO Bachpan: Save The Innocence conducted a workshop on prevention of child sexual abuse on 4.01.2024 for creating awareness among students of B.Sc.(N) Semester-I.
- Istari Kavi Darbar was organized by Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle on 28.01.2024 at Gurudwara Ber Sahib, Sultanpur Lodhi. Four students of SGRD College of Nursing recited religious poetry with full zeal and all were appreciated with trophies.

- Faculty and students of Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing organised program on World Cancer Day on the theme “Close The Care Gap” on 12th Feb, 2024 at Govt. Girls Sen. Sec. School, Kot Baba Deep Singh, Amritsar. Hundred students from class 9th and 10th had participated in this event. The students were also given demonstration of breast self-examination for early identification. School students also actively participated in quiz. On 13th Feb 2024 Department of Medical Surgical Nursing spreaded awareness about cancer and its serious issue on health and to educate the public about preventive measures on cancer. Dr. Manpreet Kaur (Principal) and all faculty of SGRDCON and Dr. Meena Sudan Prof. and HOD, Dr. Neeraj Jain, Professor, Sri Guru Ram Das Rotary Cancer Hospital, Vallah, Amritsar were present to grace the event. Health talk and Role play was performed by B.Sc. Nursing Final year students to spread the awareness about causes and prevention of cancer.

- Dr. Manpreet Kaur (Professor cum Principal), Judge for Scientific Paper presentation at 12th National Conference on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and application of generative AI organized by MIMS College of Nursing, Kozhikode, Kerala in collaboration with the Kerala State Higher Education Council from 2nd to 3rd February, 2024.

- From 16th March, 2024 to 28th March, 2024, Students of B.Sc.(N) 3rd Year, Post Basic B.Sc.(N) 2nd Year and GNM 2nd Year of Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing, Vallah, Sri Amritsar celebrated Mental Retardation Month at General OPD of Sri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital, Amritsar. Students celebrated the day by displaying Posters related to mental retardation (intellectual disability). Speech was given by students to create awareness about mental retardation and its preventions. A role play was also conducted in the OPD to create awareness. On 22nd March, 2024, nursing students at Psychiatric OPD of Sri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital, Amritsar displayed Posters and a role play was performed to create awareness. Dr. Manjit Singh, HOD Psychiatry Department, gave speech to the patients and their attendants. On 28th March, 2024, nursing students along with 3 faculty members visited Pingalwara to spend time with special children residing there. Lot of fun activities were organized like Playing Ludo, Painting, Drawing, 100 meter race and Wheel chair race. All participated with zeal and winners were honored with prizes. Further, refreshment was given to all.
- MERA PEHLA VOTE DESH KE LIYE campaign was organized by faculty and students of SGRD College of Nursing, Vallah, Sri Amritsar on 06.03.2024 under the able guidance of Dr. Manjit Singh Uppal, Vice-Principal, Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Sri Amritsar. Competitions of Slogan Writing, Essay Writing and Reel Making were held. Students who won prizes were awarded with prizes and certificates.
- On 28th March, 2024, Students of B.Sc.(N) Semester-V of Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing, Vallah, Sri Amritsar celebrated World TB Day at District TB Hospital, Amritsar. Hospital Staff gave orientation of the hospital wards, DOTS Room, X-Ray and other services to the students. Students celebrated the day by displaying Posters related to awareness of TB to the patients and attendants. A role play was also conducted in the OPD to create awareness about the various aspects of TB along with its preventive measures.
- Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing, Vallah, Amritsar, organized a National Workshop on “Patient Safety: Nurses’ Perspective” on 30th March, 2024 Co-sponsored by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, New Delhi. Around 70 delegates registered for the workshop. After an interactive ice breaking session, pre-test was administered. The national workshop was inaugurated by Honorable Chief Guest Dr. Sukhpal Kaur, Principal, NINE PGIMER, Guest of Honor Dr. Anupama Mahajan, Director Principal, Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medial Sciences and Research, Sri Amritsar, Organizing Chairperson Dr. A.P. Singh, Dean, SGRDUHS, Amritsar and Organizing Secretary Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Principal, Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing, Amritsar. All the dignitaries were honored with mementos. Eminent Speakers and Chairpersons imparted knowledge on different topics on patient safety. Hands on Training was also organized on various topics. Later, Post test was held, which showed a significant improvement in mean test score of delegates as compared to pre-test. This was followed with Valedictory session, in which delegates shared their feedback about the organization and execution of the workshop.
- Dr. Karuna Sharma (Professor) participated as a Scientific Paper Evaluator in Virtual Conference on “Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Nursing” organized by Federal Organization for Nursing Services in collaboration with Vedant Nursing College, Gujarat on 10th March, 2024.

- Dr. Amandeep Kaur Bajwa (Professor), participated as a Resource Person for delivering the keynote on “Professional Ethics and Human Values” in 1 week faculty development program “Leadership Skills” organized by UIJIR Academic Research Foundation in collaboration with SN College of Nursing, Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan from 14th March to 20th March, 2024.

- On the eve of “World Health Day” Department of Community Health Nursing of SGRD College of Nursing organized a “Health Screening Camp” at Gurudwara Ramsar Sahib, Amritsar on 10th April, 2024 from 10.00am to 2.00pm. Health Screening parameters i.e Blood Pressure, Random Blood Glucose, BMI, WHR and Oral Screening of devotees (of approx. 65) were done. Students created awareness and motivated everyone to get regular health check ups for early detection of health problems.

- Nurses Day 2024 was celebrated on 13th May, 2024.The event began with Shabad Recitation by students of B.Sc. Nursing Lamp Lighting was carried out by Honorable dignitaries Dr. Manjit Singh Uppal (Vice Chancellor), Dr. Shakeen Singh (Registrar), Dr. Anupama Mahajan (Director Principal), Dr. Manpreet Kaur (Principal), Ms. Iqbal Kaur (Nursing Superintendent). Dr. Manpreet Kaur (Principal) welcomed all with her welcome Speech and highlighted the celebration of Nurse Day nationally and globally on the eve of Florence Nightingale’s birth anniversary. Dr. Amandeep Kaur Bajwa (Professor) unfolded the Theme of Nurses Day “Our Nurses, Our Future: The Economic Power of Care”. Dr. Manjit Singh Uppal, in his inaugural speech highlighted the role of nurses in today’s health care and announced the re-designation of staff nurses as NURSING OFFICERS. Dr. Shakeen Singh, Registrar congratulated all the nursing officers for their new title and encouraged them for pro-active roles. Ms. Iqbal Kaur, on behalf of whole nursing team thanked the management for their gesture and promised to strive for excellence in nursing care. Honoring of Guests was followed by fun games, organized for Nursing Officers and prizes were distributed to the winners. Celebration ended with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Karuna Sharma (Professor and HOD OBG Nursing).
- Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing, in Sri Amritsar, participated in the National Webinar on World Hypertension Day on May 17, 2024. This webinar was organized by DGHS, MoHFW. As per the INC Notification, B.Sc.(N) Semester-VI students attended the webinar. Additionally, the four nursing faculty members, Mr. Gopal Singh Charan, Ms. Ujala Joshi, Ms. Akashpreet Kaur and Ms. Kiranpreet Kaur also attended this webinar.
- On 24 May, 2024, World Schizophrenia Day was celebrated by students of B.Sc.(N) Semester-VI of Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing, Vallah, Sri Amritsar at Vidya Sagar Institute of Mental Health, Amritsar.Various activities like Poster Exhibition, Role Play, Pamphlet distribution was done by the students. Faculty of Psychiatric Nursing Department put their tireless efforts in making this day a success.

- In-Service Education Program on the topic “Medication Error” was organized by M.Sc.(N) 2nd Year and B.Sc.(N) 4th Year students on 15.06.2024 under supervision of Dr. Amandeep Kaur Bajwa (Professor) and Mr. Gopal Singh Charan (Associate Professor) in the Lecture Theatre (OPD). Around 60 Nursing Officers attended the program. Pre-test was taken before administering the topic and followed by Post-test. All the participants were given refreshment in the end.
- Department of Mental Health Nursing of SGRD College of Nursing organized “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” on the theme “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention” at De-addiction & Psychiatry Ward of Sri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital, Vallah, Amritsar on 26th June, 2024. Various activities like Health Talk, Games, Role Play, Group discussion for thought expression was done in the de-addiction ward. Refreshment was served to all and winners were rewarded with prizes.
- Dr. Manpreet Kaur Professor Cum Principal was elected as TNAI Punjab State TREASURER (2024-2028) on 23rd June, 2024 through voting held at JJ Resorts, Banga organized by TNAI, Delhi.
- Dr. Sukhbir Kaur Associate Professor was participated as Resource Person for delivering on the topic “Types of variables in quantitative research” in 5 days faculty development program from 24 June to 28 June, 2024 organized by Noida International University School of Nursing, Greater Noida, UP.

- Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing organized “Ciao Bash” for the outgoing nursing students on 26th July, 2024 in the Auditorium at Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research. Dr. Manjit Singh Uppal (Vice-Chancellor, SGRD UHS), Dr. Anupama Mahajan (Director Principal, SGRD IMS&R) graced the occasion with their presence. Welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Manpreet Kaur (Principal, SGRD CON). Cash prizes and certificates were given to the topper students of GNM Batch 2020 & 2021 and B.Sc.(N) Batch 2021. Miss Sharandip Kaur (Post Basic B.Sc.(N) 2nd Year) student was crowned with the title “MISS. FAREWELL”. Miss Avneet Kaur and Miss. Sujata was awarded with the title “1st and 2nd RUNNER UP” respectively. Sonia was given the title “MISS CHARMING”. Miss Mehakpreet Kaur, Miss Navneet Kaur, Miss Kirandeep Kaur were titled as “MISS BEAUTIFUL SMILE, MISS PERSONALITY and MISS BEAUTIFUL DRESS” respectively. The event concluded with vote of thanks.

- The Department of SPM along with Pediatric Nursing celebrated Breastfeeding Week from 1st to 7th August, 2024 under the theme "Closing The Gap: Breastfeeding Support for All." The event captured enthusiastic participation from B.Sc. Nursing 6th Semester and GNM 2nd Year students. Activities included theme-based poster competition, and role-play. Prizes were distributed to the winners of Poster Competition. Role Play was conducted at RHC, Mallunangal by the students to create awareness regarding the benefits of breastfeeding among pregnant and lactating mothers.
- Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing celebrated National Anti-Ragging Mahotsav from 16-17 August, 2024 on the theme “Yaari Youth Against Ragging”. On 16th August, a movie was shown to the nursing students regarding consequences of ragging and asked them to raise the voice against ragging. On 17th August, 2024, students of B.Sc.(N) Semester-I & VI participated in Declamation, Rangoli and Role Play to create awareness among the students about ill-effects of Ragging.

- Mental health Day 2024 was celebrated on 18th October, 2024. Nursing students and Nursing Officers participated in the entire event with lots of enthusiasm. The Event was held on the theme of the day “MENTAL HEALTH AT WORK”. The Inauguration was done with floral welcome of Honorable Dr. Manpreet Kaur (Principal), Dr. Amandeep Singh, Psychologist, (Guest Speaker) and Ms. Iqbal Kaur (Nursing Superintendent). The Theme was unfolded by Dr. Amandeep Singh. Thereafter, Dr. Amandeep Kaur Bajwa delivered a talk on “Effective strategies to manage stress at work place”. Poster Competition and Collage Making Competitions were held for nursing officers and students of B.Sc.(N) Semester-V, Post Basic B.Sc.(N) 2nd Year and M.Sc.(N) 1st Year. Winners were awarded with certificates.
- Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing successfully organized One-Day workshop titled 'Quality Nursing: Educating the Educators' on 22nd October 2024 at Auditorium, SGRD University of Health Sciences, Vallah, Amritsar. Dr. Manpreet Kaur, the Chief Coordinator, welcomed the participants with a heartening address, setting the tone for the day's sessions. Dr. Puneet Girdhar, Registrar, Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC), outlined the objectives of the workshop, highlighting the need for continuous professional development in the field of nursing education. A special keynote was delivered by Dr. Manjit Singh Uppal, Vice Chancellor of SGRD University of Health Sciences, who shared his insights on the evolving role of nursing in the healthcare sector.
The workshop included engaging sessions led by renowned experts, such as Mr. Rahul Sharma, a corporate leader and start-up mentor from IIT Kanpur. Dr. Bharat Pareek, Principal of Sarswati Nursing College, Gharuan, Dr. Davinder Kaur, Principal of Gian Sagar Nursing College, Rajpura, Dr. Rathi Balachandran, Former ADG Nursing and Senior Faculty at Dr. RML Hospital, New Delhi, Mrs. Dildeep Kaur, Principal of Govt. Institute of Nursing, CH Ropar, Mr. Gourav Mahipal from the IT Cell of PNRC. Dr. Harsimrat Kaur, Nodal Officer, DHS, with participation from Civil Surgeons, DFPOs, and SMOs from the districts of Amritsar and Tarn Taran, discussed about clinical trainings of nursing students in district hospitals and health institutions. The workshop was attended by nearly 750 nursing faculty from all nursing colleges of Amritsar and Tarn Taran.

- On 13th November, 2024, Sri Guru Ram Das College of Nursing organised its Annual Sports Meet. Dr. Manjit Singh Uppal, Vice Chancellor, SGRDUHS, graced the occasion as chief guest. The Sports meet started with the march past of the four different houses (Sabar, Sidak, Santokh, Sehaj) of the college cheered for their respective members., followed by Shabad recitation. After that Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Principal, SGRD College of Nursing welcomed the chief guest, faculty and students, and highlighted the importance of sports for physical and mental health.The The students of the four different houses competed against each other in different sports events :
Track events : 400 mt relay races, 100 metres race
Field events : Badminton, , Javelin throw, and discus throw.
Fun activities : Sack Race, Octopus race, and Tug-of-war
The day concluded with an award ceremony. The winners were felicitated with medals, trophies, and certificates by the Principal. The overall Champion’s trophy was won by Sehaj (Yellow) House. In the end, the Principal thanked everyone for their presence and support, and congratulated the students for their exceptional performances.
- Dr. Amandeep Kaur Bajwa, Professor, was the Session Chairperson in the 3rd International Virtual Nursing Conference on “Partnership and collaborative work in managing addictive behavioural disorders and substance use disorders” organized by LGBRIMH Tejpur, Assam in collaboration with Arizona Indian Nurses Association USA and ABD and SUD care group on 7th & 8th November, 2024.
- Dr. Ujala Joshi (Assistant Professor) and Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur (Assistant Professor) was nominated to attend 6 days training on Training of Trainers (simulation based education) from 18 November to 23 November, 2024 sponsored by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, at National Reference Simulation Centre, Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurugram. The objective of the training was to provide skills practice and real life situations in safe environment.

- World Menopause Day was celebrated by OBG Nursing Department on 3.12.2024 at Gurudwara Nabipur, Amritsar. All menopausal women of 35 to 55 years age participated with lot of enthusiasm. Inauguration was done with welcome of Sarpanch Ms. Balwinder Kaur and other organizers. A clinic was held to assess the health parameters of women such as B.P, Height, Weight and RBS. Multivitamins and Calcium supplements were provided to the women and those who were found ill, referred for medical advice. Health awareness talk was given by students of M.Sc.(N) 2nd Year, M.Sc.(N) 1st Year students, Post Basic B.Sc.(N) 1st Year and GNM 3rd Year on Menopause and its management.
- As per directions of UGC, The Bharatiya Bhasha Divas competition was held on 11th December,2024 at SGRD College of Nursing by B.Sc.(Nursing) students to mark the celebration of the rich linguistic diversity of our country. The event aimed to promote and preserve the various languages spoken in India. The Calligraphy competition and Poetry Recitation competition were held on the theme. The participants were judged on their pronunciation, expression, and overall performance. The winners of both competitions were awarded with certificates and prizes.
- Dr. Amandeep Kaur Bajwa, Professor, was the Guest Speaker in the 1st International Congress of Nurses on “Safety and quality of health care and personal services” at Tabilisi, Georgia from 1st to 3rd December, 2024.
- Dr. Manpeet Kaur, Professor cum Principal, was Resource Person on the topic “Digital Health Incentive Scheme” in 5th National Conference of SPHERE on theme “Transforming Public Health Nursing In India: Education, Leadership and Digital Innovation” at SGT University, Gurugram from 13th to 14th December, 2024
